CAMDEN CULTURAL EVENT

CAMDEN CULTURAL EVENT

In 2012, we were given the opportunity to participate in a cultural event held at the Camden Town Hall in London to celebrate different cultures.
It was a great day filled with fun activities for both adults and children, whereby groups from various backgrounds came forward to represent their countries via showcasing their customs and traditions. The beauty of this wonderful event lay in the strong spirit of unity felt by everyone who attended.

COS worked closely with young British children, bringing them together to partake in a competition to represent Sudan and raise awareness of our charity.
Selma Mustafa, a volunteer at COS, carried out weekly training sessions to teach them the traditional Sudanese dance in preparation for the event. It was a great commitment from both the children and their families.

The children were dressed in traditional Sudanese attire and performed the wedding cultural dance which favourably won! They received certificates from the organizers in aid of their big win are were also awarded by the Sudanese community for their great achievement.
They were overjoyed with their success, and COS could not be any prouder of them.
